What is a math festival?
A math festival is a one-time event where children gather and explore math through puzzles and games.
Can I plan my own math festival?
Yes! Our festivals are hosted by volunteers affiliated with schools, community groups, colleges and universities, service clubs…really, anyone who wants to connect the children in their community with a joyful math experience.
While hosting a festival might seem like a daunting task, it is eminently doable and we’re here to support you. We offer help with marketing and registration, choosing activities and volunteers, and by supplying you with printable activity guides, festival decorations, and more.
Why should I host a math festival?
Festivals provide magical math moments that stay with children long after they leave. Children experience a play-based approach to problem solving and critical thinking and build confidence through challenges that they conquer while surrounded by a supportive community.
Where can I host a math festival?
In-person or virtual — it’s your choice!
How much does a math festival cost?
We offer 4 festival models: online, mini, classic, and mega.
The cost ranges from $0 to $500, depending on the model you choose, the number of students in attendance, and which activities you decide to include.
How much time does it take to plan a math festival?
We suggest at least 30 minutes for a mini festival. Mega festivals can require up to 20 hours of prep time, which includes volunteer training, event set-up, and marketing.
